As I was lounging on the couch one evening, casually scrolling through my social media feed, I came across a post from my cousin’s husband.

It was a photo of a white wooden rocking horse with a caption that read:
“This thing keeps moving on its own. What should I do?”

Naturally, the comments were flooded with the usual:
“It’s possessed!”
“Call a priest!”
“Burn it!”

Classic human response, right? It's funny how quickly people jump to the idea of demons when something unexplainable happens. I’m not sure why so many assume that only malevolent spirits try to communicate with the living. Maybe someone misinterpreted a Bible verse and turned it into gospel.

(Wow—I sound jaded. I kind of am.)

I was raised by a grandmother who always told me,
“God uses us all as His angels on Earth.”
I’ve always preferred her version of the story. I'd rather believe I'm a tool for divine connection than a demon destined for damnation.

Anyway...

Trusting My Psychic Intuition

Before he burned what was probably just an innocent toy, I decided to tune in. I took a screenshot of the picture, sat upright, took a deep breath, and cleared my mind.

Once I focused, words and images started flowing in. I mentally collected the intuitive data, then sent my cousin-in-law a direct message:

“Am I correct in saying this rocking horse doesn’t rock back and forth... but actually moves around the room?”

He replied almost immediately:
“How did you know that?”

Because Energy Can Only Change Forms

At the time, his mother-in-law (my aunt) already knew I was a psychic medium, but I’m not sure the rest of the family was in the loop.

As cool as it might sound to know someone who can connect with the spirit world, it tends to catch people off guard. Maybe it’s because it shifts them from hoping there’s life after death to knowing there is.

Science backs this up too. Energy can’t be created or destroyed—it only changes form. And we, as human beings, are energy in motion.

But when you're face-to-face with someone telling you intimate details they couldn’t possibly know... let’s just say Einstein’s laws of thermodynamics aren't the first thing that comes to mind.

You’d think people would dive right in, ask a million questions, and want to know everything. But in reality, they’re having their core beliefs shaken.

Their courage of conviction is being tested—and if the Bible teaches anything consistently, it's that faith will be challenged. (At least you're not Job or Lot, right?)

I explained to him that I’m a psychic medium, and I’ve been this way since birth. I experience extremely lucid dreams—some give me answers, others leave me with even more questions.

I’ve meditated daily since childhood. It helps me sort through both my emotions and messages I receive. Over time, I’ve discovered that my abilities are strongest when I focus on a photo. All that practice over 40+ years has fine-tuned my ability to quickly clear my mind and tune into what the spirit world is trying to show me.

Why Was the Rocking Horse Moving?

I told him that the rocking horse wasn’t being moved by a childlike spirit. Instead, it was an adult presence. That’s why it didn’t rock—it shifted across the room.

I added,
“Pay attention to what it’s pointing to. The movement is intentional. The spirit is either watching over the kids or trying to warn you about something.”

He was floored.

He told me the horse sometimes moves several feet—anywhere from a yard to over five feet at a time—and they’ve never actually seen it move.

He laughed and said,
“If I ever do see it happen, I’ll probably sh*t myself.”

And then he sent me another picture.

We went out one night and when we came home the rocking horse was placed like this. I haven't shown anyone this picture, now you are giving me the heebie jeebies.

"It has to be my grandfather'"

I started getting the giggles and asked if his grandfather would do silly things to make either others laugh or himself laugh. Like, you would laugh and then tell him he is a such a dork. I'm getting that the spirit likes watching you two freak out when it moves the horse around.

"Yup, that's my grandpa"

What do you do with the Information Given after a Medium Chat?

If you need to do anything, the medium usually knows what will work. I have definitely given homework to people to help clean energy away. Most of the time it is a simple task. All of the time your heart has to be in it. Sometimes, it is not about doing anything but understanding the situation. Which is all my cousin had to do. Just know love never leaves because the human form is no longer with us.

The Bhagavad Gita stated it best: A worn out body is shed by the dweller.

Conclusion to the Reading

The session concluded with me telling him to keep the horse around. If it moves, acknowledge your grandpa's presence and talk to him. He loves you all very much and is glad to see the rocking horse is still in the hands of a child. Despite your lack of handyman skills he is so proud of you and thinks you are a great dad.

And situations like that make letting people into your inner circle well worth it.

Real-Life Spirit Communication

This story is just one of many real paranormal experiences I’ve encountered as a working psychic medium. Spirits don’t always communicate in ways we expect—but they’re often around, sending subtle (and sometimes not-so-subtle) messages to those who are open to receiving them.

Whether it’s a dream, a smell, or a rocking horse that moves across the floor, the afterlife has ways of reaching through. You just need to know how to recognize the signs.
